Week 5

Internship is closing to and end. It is bittersweet how fast 5 months go and all that you have learned. I am so happy the event is this friday, because I am ready to see my work in action. Whether a success or failure, the 1st annual Nude Attitude is a success in my book.

Today I was asked to stay until I graduate. I was so excited and of course said yes. My director has no idea what I will be doing, but is excited to have me (an added bonus). Friday is the event, so I will keep you update then!

I still need volunteers! Let me know if you are free friday from 9-12 am. Will have alot of fun!

Week4

So this week..

What can I say? I honestly did nothing.

I made a shopping trip to buy ribbons, but with the event so close, there is nothing much to do. Besides the finalizations on all the specifics of the nights event, I have nothing to do. I suppose it is nice because I know I did my job leading up the the event, but still I want something to do.

The event is next friday and I am very excited and nervous. I want it to go great, and I want there to be no problems. I think the planning and execution I have done for the event, everything will go great. If not, there is wine and beer to fix the problem!

Week 3

I must saw, after these last few months, my internship is starting to become a bit more of a breeze than I thought. After months of planning, and finalizing, the event is almost here! We have the artists selected and artwork arriving, as well as the finit details for the event planned. It has been a bumpy but fun ride. I not only got to work on the marketing and public relations for the event, but I got an inside into event planning and how that works.
This week, I honestly did nothing. My boss was so tired of working 12 hour days, she decided to give us a day off. I only work on Fridays, so I got the week off. The only thing I had to work on was a schedule for us to follow the day of the event, times when stuff needed to be accomplished and so forth. It is just nice to not be a secretary for an internship once, and actually have work to do! Sad the internship event is almost up, but I do get to stay till I graduate to help out some more!

Entry 2

          This path month has been hectic! Not only did I start school, but with my event coming closer and closer, I have more work than ever. Not only did I have to go through over 400 artist entries, but I also had to self judge and narrow those 400 down to 200, and then with my director, narrow down to 58. It was crazy, but with a few glasses of wine between us both, we got the job done! Apart from the choosing of artists, I am now working on the logistics for the event. This includes the shipping and receiving of all artwork, as well as the return on the items, unless bought. This is my first insight into logistics, and it is definitely interesting.
          I think that this path month, although hectic, has been very interesting. I am gaining an insight into event planning and marketing, one that I have never seen before. It has shown me many aspects to different jobs I would like doing, and is something I will never forget. Having a great director, one that wants to share wine and help with every aspect, is also an amazing attribute of this internship! Hopefully my future boss will be just as amazing! Cant wait to see what next week brings!
